Golden Budha

A gold-plated Buddha seated 80 metres up Núi Lớn, looking out over the city and the open sea — the heart of Chơn Không, a Zen monastery founded in 1966 by Thích Thanh Từ, the monk who revived Vietnam's Trúc Lâm Zen. Climb to its base for the view the monks chose on purpose: back to the mountain, face to the water.
